Exports of agricultural products amounted to 42.6% of the total national exports, increased exports of plant products, fats and oils.
Ukrainian farmers during the first quarter of 2017 exported agricultural products to $ 4.6 billion, 38.6% more than in the same period of 2016
Most of all, increased exports of plant products, fats and oils.
Supply of crop products in January-March increased by 35%, or 598,1 million dollars due to the increase in supply of soybeans and corn.
The exports of fats and oils increased by 35.6%, or 336,4 million dollars, the export of sunflower oil increased by 315,6 million dollars, compared with the figure for the first quarter of last year.
In the first three months of 2017 Ukraine imported agricultural products to $ 1.1 billion, which is 4% lower than in the same period last year.
Thus, the share of agricultural import in national imports in Ukraine decreased to 9.8% in the first quarter of 2017 from 13% in the first quarter of 2016.
Ukraine expects that the European Parliament prior to the summer of this year will adopt a decision on granting to Kiev of additional preferences in the framework of the agreement on free trade zone.
